It's not your story of struggle. It's His story of rescue.
Sometimes I forget the basic truths of scripture, verses such as Romans 8:28: 'God works all things together for good for those who love Him who are called according to His purpose.' It's not that I don't know the verse, maybe it just doesn't feel real in the struggle.
God reminded me the other day through this quote: 'It's not your story of struggle. It's His story of rescue'--that He has never allowed hard times in my life for hard times sake. He has a written a beautiful story of His great grace, His endless love, and incredible rescue through my life.
I don't know why God allows what He allows, but one day when I get to heaven I sure hope He tells me He allowed certain things in my life because He knew I would tell the story of how He rescued me-helping people better know and love Him. And I pray that He gives me the strength and the courage to do just that. For His glory, for His glory alone.
